OVERVIEW

Texas Fencing Academy is a two weapons academy : epee and saber.

TFA conducts structured fencing classes for kids, youth and adults as well as individual private fencing lessons. Composed of levels from introduction and beginners to competitive fencers, each level develops:

  • Physical conditioning and endurance
  • Fencing skills, such as foot and blade work
  • Social and sportsmanship skills
  • Self control, confidence and mental strength
  • Agility, eye-hand-foot control and balance
  • Ability to understand and direct a fencing bout
  • Strategic and tactical skills
  • Competitive performance

TFA offers in-person classes:

We offer different programs for our fencers :

Fencing Introduction 1st Month includes access to all our Epee and Saber classes for you to discover the joy of fencing.

Minnow Fencers are our youngest fencers ages 6-9 and come on Saturdays once a week.  Our goal is to introduce fencing in a fun, safe environment

Competitive Fencers make more of a time commitment and usually, they have already narrowed their focus to a specific weapon and plan on competing in tournaments. They can come to the competitive training class in addition to any other scheduled classes.

Team fencers are recreational fencers that may have already narrowed their focus to a specific weapon and have not yet decided if they’d like to pursue fencing in tournaments. Team fencers can attend all the instructor-led Epee and Saber classes at the salle M-Th and Sat.

Open Fencing is for adults and competitive TFA fencers to fence at our salle. After registering, contact the coach or staff to determine which nights you’d like to attend.  Saber and Epee can come any nights but there are more fencers of a particular weapon historically.

We foster a sense of team and family so all of our fencers must list TFA as your primary club.

Our program contains the following classes:
